Versioning policy

clai uses semantic versioning (vMAJOR.MINOR.PATCH) for binary releases and Go module tags.

Configuration compatibility

When clai introduces new fields in textConfig.json, photoConfig.json, videoConfig.json, or profiles/*.json, existing configuration files are migrated or populated with safe defaults automatically on startup.

Documentation versions

The clai.chat documentation site tracks the latest clai release at /docs/ and preserves archived snapshots under /docs/v<major.minor>/. Every page records the exact baalimago/clai git commit and source files it was written from in its frontmatter.
